About the Venue

The Old Harbor Farm is an historic 126-acre active agricultural forage operation. The farm was purchased in 1856 by Jacob Hittinger, entrepreneur and founding member of the Fresh Pond Ice Company, who harvested ice from the nearby Harbor Pond. Since then, many other agricultural products have been farmed on the property, including asparagus, dairy, and apples. Today, the Shepherd family uses the back fields to grow and harvest hay. When you visit the Old Harbor Farm, look closely and you will see the footprints of some of the former buildings. In addition, take a peek across the street to see the newly renovated Old Harbor Church and the Boston & Maine railroad tracks, now the Squannacook River Rail Trail.
